Terms and conditions:

To hire bikes or equipment from Twisted Cogs is simple but we do require that you fill out a bike hire agreement form which will be presented at time of hire.

The signatory on the hire agreement form is the designated person of hire and must be 18 years or older and we will require proof of ID.

Photo identification must be provided on the day of hire (without exception). Accepted forms of I.D are, UK Driving Licence and Passport, a copy will be kept and stored securely for the duration of the hire.

The person using the bicycle must be above the age of 14 and show capable abilities to be able to use the hired cycle.

We are pleased to accept either credit/debit cards or cash for payment, which will be required in full before the bikes are released for hire.

Customers paying in cash will be required to leave a deposit in the form of credit/debit card details.

We look forward to enhancing your stay in York with a cycle ride; contact us to reserve your bikes taking full advantage of our delivery service. We can deliver your rental cycles to a local hotel, guesthouse, marina, or campsite, then collect them at the end of the rental period*.

By signing a hire agreement form, the hirer is accepting the terms and conditions stated below.

• Cycling on public roads and highways carries risks and that you are aware of these risks.
• All bicycles in your party will be ridden safely and responsibly at all times.
• All bicycles in your party will be returned within the specified hire period.
• Damage to any bicycles or equipment will be the responsibility of the person of hire and repairs or replacement will be charged for at the full market value.
• All bicycles in your party will be locked to an immovable object when not being ridden.
• Twisted Cogs will not be held responsible for injury to any members of your party during the period or hire, or any loss or damage to personal property.
